Agents for partner onboarding
AWS Partner Central uses AI-powered agents to guide you through partner onboarding — from completing your partner profile and setting up as a Marketplace seller, to achieving PRM (Partner Revenue Measurement) compliance.
Prerequisites
Your account has migrated to AWS Partner Central in the AWS Management Console.
Your IAM user or role has the
AWSPartnerCentralFullAccessmanaged policy attached.
Important
Onboarding guidance is generated by AI for informational purposes and does not constitute advice on regulatory, tax, or compliance matters. Partners should verify all AI-generated guidance before acting on it.
How to access the agent
You can talk to the agent by clicking on the default prompts provided in the Getting Started cards on your AWS Partner Central dashboard. Each card corresponds to a stage of your onboarding and launches the agent with context for that task.
Partner and seller setup
The agent guides partners through all steps they need to complete before they are ready to sell with AWS — that is, creating partner-originated opportunities, receiving AWS-originated leads and opportunities, or selling through AWS Marketplace. Some of these tasks are:
| Task | Description |
|---|---|
| Answer onboarding questions | Answers questions on APN fee payment, IAM access permission setup for AWS Partner Central, and other onboarding topics. |
| Auto-populate partner profile | Scans your company website, extracts business information, and maps it to partner profile fields for your review and approval. |
| Change profile visibility | Sets your profile to PUBLIC (discoverable by AWS customers) or PRIVATE. |
| Update alliance lead contact | Changes the name, title, and email of your alliance lead. |
| Link training certification domains | Associates email domains for AWS training and certification tracking. |
| Manage account connections | Sends, accepts, rejects, or cancels connection invitations between AWS accounts (e.g., subsidiary links). |
| Tax interview | Determines the correct tax form (W-9, W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E) based on your country and entity type, and guides you through completion. |
| Banking and disbursement | Explains payment setup by region, including currency requirements and bank account verification. |
| Compliance (KYC/BAV/SU) | Identifies which compliance requirements apply — Know Your Customer, Bank Account Verification, or Secondary User verification — based on your geography and selling model. |
| ESC catalog registration | Guides you through creating your seller entity and initial product listing. |
| Service-linked role | Checks whether the AWSServiceRoleForMarketplaceResaleAuthorization role
exists in your account and creates it if needed (required for CPPO/resale
authorizations). |
To get setup guidance
Ask the agent to help you get started (for example, "I want to start selling on Marketplace — where do I begin?").
The agent assesses your current registration status and identifies the steps that remain.
Follow the agent's guidance through each step. The agent explains what is required, provides links to the relevant forms or portals, and answers questions along the way.
PRM compliance guidance
The agent assesses whether your account meets PRM (Partner Revenue Measurement) requirements for revenue attribution, and guides you through any remaining steps.
To check PRM compliance
Ask the agent about your PRM readiness (for example, "Tell me all the steps I need to perform to be PRM compliant").
The agent checks your account against PRM requirements.
If all requirements are met, the agent confirms your account is PRM-ready.
If gaps exist, the agent provides a step-by-step remediation plan and can help you complete each action.
For partners with subsidiary accounts, the agent verifies that all seller accounts are properly linked via account connections so that revenue attribution consolidates correctly across your organization.
Important considerations
| Consideration | Details |
|---|---|
| Data scope | The agent accesses only your own partner account, profile, and Marketplace seller information. It does not access data from other partners or accounts. |
| Write operations | All changes to your profile, visibility, connections, and Marketplace configuration require your explicit approval before execution. |
| Compliance guidance | Tax, banking, and regulatory guidance is informational. The agent does not submit tax forms or banking details on your behalf — it directs you to the appropriate portal. |
| Permissions | Features are gated by IAM permissions. Users without required permissions receive an access denied message. |
| Sessions | Conversations are session-based and are not stored. If you close a session, you will not be able to retrieve the conversation for that session. |
