# PutAttributeMapping

Put an entry in the attribute mapping rules that will be enforced by a given profile. A mapping specifies a certificate field and one or more specifiers that have contextual meanings.

## URI Request Parameters

The request uses the following URI parameters.

 ** [profileId](#API_PutAttributeMapping_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="rolesanywhere-PutAttributeMapping-request-uri-profileId"></a>
The unique identifier of the profile.  
Length Constraints: Fixed length of 36.  
Pattern: `.*[a-f0-9]{8}-([a-z0-9]{4}-){3}[a-z0-9]{12}.*`   
Required: Yes

## Request Body

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

Fields (x509Subject, x509Issuer and x509SAN) within X.509 certificates.  
Type: String  
Valid Values: `x509Subject | x509Issuer | x509SAN`   
Required: Yes

 ** [mappingRules](#API_PutAttributeMapping_RequestSyntax) **   <a name="rolesanywhere-PutAttributeMapping-request-mappingRules"></a>
A list of mapping entries for every supported specifier or sub-field.  
Type: Array of [MappingRule](API_MappingRule.md) objects  
Required: Yes
