# Release: Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux 2 platform updates on June 23, 2020

This release provides new versions for AWS Elastic Beanstalk platforms based on Amazon Linux 2. The release includes security updates. It also includes Go, Node.js, Python, and Ruby updates.

Fixed a bug in the default WSGI path that the platform expects your application to use.  When the Amazon Linux 2 Python platform launched, it was expecting your application to have a WSGI path of `application:app` by default. This was incompatible with the previous Amazon Linux AMI platform. Today's update (platform version 3.0.3) fixes this issue and changes the default WSGI path to `application:app`. Some of you might have encountered failures when you updated to an earlier Amazon Linux 2 platform. If you solved this failure by specifying a custom WSGI path (using the `WSGIPath` option in the `aws:elasticbeanstalk:container:python` namespace, or using a Procfile to launch your application), you can now safely update to the latest platform version without further change. However, if you solved this failure by changing your application's entry point to `app`, then you should do one of the following before updating to version 3.0.3: change your application's entry point back to `application`, or specify a custom entry point by using the [WSGIPath option](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/dg/command-options-specific.html#command-options-python) (example [here](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/dg/create-deploy-python-container.html#python-namespaces)) or a [Procfile](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/dg/python-configuration-procfile.html).   |
